Norway’s 4 seasons
Summer – from June til September, by some called «the green winter».
Normally the climate is mild, with temperatures around 15-25 degrees celsius in the southern part.
Northern Norway and the mountains are colder. It is not unusual to have snow in the mountains during summer.
Sea temperatures vary from 8-20 degrees celsius.
During the summer you can experience the magic midnight sun in the northern part of Norway. Sunsets in Norway are incredably long during summertime, and most spectacular in the west.
Autumn – from September til November, maybe the finest part of the year, when the nature burst in all kinds of colours. Crisp clear air and cold mornings with bright light and still some heat from the sun during the day.
Winter – from November til March, snow and cold days. It’s the time of year when it is possible to see the northern lights in northern Norway. Days are short, with lack of daylight in the north. Possible activities in the winter include skiing, snowshoeing, ski-kiting, ice climbing, ice skating, dog sledding, reindeer sledding and more.
Spring – from April till May, the nature comes back to life. Everything bursts into life. The birds return from their winter areas. Possibly the greenest time of the year.
