Possibility Rogaland
Lonely Planet recently flagged this area as a paradise for outdoor activities https://www.lonelyplanet.com/articles/best-places-for-a-cycling-holiday.
However, we regard Rogaland the gateway to Norway: the most southern fjords and line of islands, the start of the long chain of mountains covering western part of inland Norway, and the small villages along the sea line still well-kept and focusing local activities. An area to be focused all year around.
Sognefjord
Norways longest fjord has a lot to offer. On its north shore the large Jostedalsbreen glacier can be seen and visited. The highest mountains in all Scandinavia are there to be explored and climbed. Enjoy the local history in several small communities along the fjord. Boating is an efficient way of travelling, offering the best view and providing access to places there are no roads. This trip may be arranged in all seasons and set to the level of activities and challenges the participants decide.
National PArks and world heritage
Norway have 47 national parks, where 40 of them are on the mainland. One of the most famous and spectacular is Dovrefjell national park. In the park there have been a heird of Musks since the 1930s. The park have one of the highest mountains in Norway, Snøhetta. There are several opportunities to hike, bike, camp and enjoy the outdoors. Close to Dovre is Røros, one of the world heritage places in Norway. This old mining city have been producing copper from 1644 to 1977 and have a special arcitecture. You can enjoy the local history and traditional Norwegian gastronomy. This trip may be arranged in all seasons and set to the level of activities and challenges the participants decide.
Nordfjord
One of the most beautiful fjords of Norway, from the ocean to the inner areas of steep, high mountains and glaciers.
This area has a lot to offer visitors year round, either in a relaxing and chilled mode or active and extreme travel, all according to your desires.
Enjoy the local production of fruits and food from villages for culinary evenings and surprises. Mountains to be climbed, glaciers to be explored, and the open ocean provide several opportunities.
Lofoten and vesterålen
North of the artic circle, Lofoten forms a archipilago in the Atlantic Ocean. These islands are connected by bridges, underwater tunnels and ferries. Lofoten may easily be reached by boat or plane as well. Summer is rather mild, and with long days. During summer the midnight sun makes any visit special. The nature is wild and challenging. Autumn, winter and spring is quiet and offers magical light. During the wintermonths the Northern Lights are wonderful to experience on cloudless nights. Vesterålen, further north, has some spectacular scenery and villages. The production of fresh seafood opens for several culinary experiences.
Finnmark
The most northern part of Europe is the rough coast of Finnmark, all to the north of mainland Norway. And next to the Russian border.
This area is as well the centre of the sami culture; still a very active and well-functioning society in northern parts of Scandinavia.
We like to explore the large rivers, the great and flat inland areas, as well as the large islands and small societies at the cost.
Up here we have the midnight sun for more than 2 months in the summer, and opposite 2 months mid-winter where the sun is not above the horizon. Winter give a lot of possibilities for snow scootering and exploring the quietness.
The ocean is a main line of transport, and in addition the growing place for fish, whale and crabs.
Still this part of Europe is wild, less populated and non-polluted.
